Single Mothers Issue.

How did it start.

(1) On night of the election results which indicated I had won the seat of Lee I received phone calls about young children in the neighbourhood being a nuisance in the areas of (1) Semaphore Park,  (2) Woodville West and (3) Royal Park. All three places happened to have all a single mother with 5 children from 3 or more fathers.

(2) I  have never been a person to trust all what I hear and have always check the facts for my self.

I therefore obtained the addresses of the problem children and the next few days I parked my car a few doors down for a half hour or so from the addresses and observed what was occurring.

(3) At one place the children aged from 4 to about 12 terrorized the neighboring children with stick or base ball bates.

A few doors down a child about 4 came up to me in the parked car and asked who I was and what was I doing there. I became to like this little boy for his politeness and inquisitiveness at such a young age.

About 6 months latter I find the house he lived in was burnt down and the child died in the fire which was started by a burning cigarette when his mother smoked.

(4) At another place the children aged from 4 to about 12 were left alone while the mother was night clubbing (I assume prostitution) till 7 in the morning.

(a) In the evenings these children stacked wood and floor boards against trees  or Hills clothes line and lit fires in the back yard

(b) On 3 occasions at about 7 Pm. in the evening,  I knocked on the door and saw some 5 teenage boys jump out of the windows and back door to escape over fences. What were these boys doing when the home had 4 girls under 12 living by themselves. I let your imagination run wild.

(c) On another occasions at about 7 Pm. while I was observing the home a police petrol came to investigate that same house  The neighbours must have contacted the police.

(5) At another place the children aged from 4 to about 12 the mother was mostly always home but did not feed the children .

(a) The neighbours complained that the children knocked on their doors and asked for food.

(b) The neighbours complained that the children took mail out of their letter boxes and kept letters with pay   cheques and threw the rest  on the foot path.

(c) The neighbours complained that the children were playing chicken with cars speeding down Bartley Terrace.

(d) The neighbours complained that they had complained to the police and the previous Mp. Kevin Hamilton about the issues and nothing was done.

(e) I watched and saw for my self the children getting into neighbours back yards, getting lawn mowers and putting sand in the petrol tanks. They then put one child sitting on the lawn mower while another pushed the lawn mower down the road as fast as they could.

(6) I was determined that where my predecessor Mp. Kevin Hamilton, had failed I would not fail.

(a) I approached the police and explained all the above problems.

(b) I approached the South Australian Housing Trust and explained all the above problems.

(c) Two responsible mothers, neighbours of the houses of hell (irresponsible single mothers ) said that single mothers like next door should be sterilized to prevent further children being born with such delinquent off springs.

(d) I waited some time for things to happen and to improve.

(i) No satisfactory actions occurred from the police.

(ii) No satisfactory actions occurred from the South Australian Housing Trust.

(iii) No satisfactory actions occurred from any of the homes of the 3 houses from Hell.

(a) I was genuinely concerned that one child aged about 4 had already been burnt to death

(b) I was genuinely concerned that the said 15 children were subjected to domestic violence and they in tern practiced violence against fellow neighbouring children.

(c) I was genuinely concerned that the cycle of bad events had to be stopped within the community to reduce the number of similar violent, neglectful families increasing in the community.

(d) I was genuinely concerned that then there was only 3 ,by 5 children families in the area of Lee and that in 10 years time those 15 children would each have 5 similar children as themselves. (That is 20 identical neglectful, irresponsible parents.)

(e) I was genuinely concerned that then there was only 15 ,by 5 children families in the area of Lee and that in 20 years time those 75 children would each having 5 similar children as themselves.

(i) This was definitely not on in my opinion, Not fair for the community.

(ii) This was Not fair for the children under 12 years of age being subjected to domestic violence.

(iii) One particular single mother was so quite and placid. I questioned her about her husband where about. She replied that 2 of her defector's were then presently in jail. (No wonder she was quite? Any back chat and a few of her teeth would go missing from a punch to the face.)

(iv) That Social workers at Canteen did give excursions to the offending children ( a holiday to Victor Harbor holiday shacks) immediately after an offence. Instead of after a period of good behavior.

(Reward or punishment for bad behavior. I say a reward.)

(e) I therefore called the Messenger Newspaper reporter and arranged for all complaining neighbouring parents to discuss the problem in my electoral office.

(7) It was agreed that some comments the neighbours did not want to be identified.  I said that the reporter could quote it as if coming from me.

(a) On the way out the messenger Press reporter said " what do you think of the heading all single mothers should be sterilized"

I said I do not care about the heading as long as these 3 single parent families were removed from my electorate so that other children could get a reprieve from violence.

The rest is history as reported.

(8) I still believe that to stand aside and be quite about the issues would have been irresponsible of me.

    I still believe that to stand aside and be quite about the issues I would be as guilty  as the abusing mothers and father's in jail.

    In time some 15 years latter I think I have been proven right as there has been a steady increase in

(i) School bullying.

(ii) Domestic Violence in which parents have actually killed their own children.

(iii) Failure in the Family Law Courts from protecting children at all costs from violent parents.

(iv) That Federal politicians like Rudd, Gillard, Howard have done nothing to reduce violence in the family and or the community.

(v) That Australian State Premiers have also done nothing to reduce violence in the family and or the community.

(vi) Most Family Court Magistrates say that children learn by example from their parents. Yet allow the children to have unsupervised contact with the violent parent because that parent has rights more than the child and that parent does not have to demonstrate responsibility for those rights. ( Magistrates have pity on the offender instead of the victim.)

It is too political vote looser for individual politicians to put a circuit breaker towards violence.

It is too costly for media news papers to put a circuit breaker towards violence as news paper sales will drop if crime drops.

It is not too much from what (The Gentiles, King Herod, and the High Priests Calaphas) the Roman Governor Pontius  Pilate washing his hands when Jesus was condemned to death for them to put a circuit breaker to stop child abuse.

Has things changed for the better in 2010 years AC. No just got worse.

How to put a circuit breaker into the circle of repeating violence is to place emphases and goal for criminals

Option (1) ( Drugs, alcohol, violence in jail for life after 3 strike/ offences you are out. )

Option (2) To put a circuit breaker into the circle of repeating violence (All violent parents to loose all rights to see the children under 18. ( After 3 strike/ offences you are out. )

Option (3) To put a circuit breaker into the circle of repeating violence (All violent parents to get the snip/sterilized to prevent further birth of children with violent DNA genes.( after 3 strike/ offences you are out. ).

Option (4) Do nothing. Not an option.

I was too politically naive to defend my self.

The Liberals  were too scared of being politically correct to enquire to the causes and aims of my statement.

The Labor Party were too bust to point score to enquire to the causes and aims of my statement.

Since then both Labor and Liberal governments have found it too hard to put a circuit breaker towards violence.
